BY TO BUDA+PEST

This city grows on you. At the beginning I was not impressed like in Prague, but as the days went by I started to really like it. The city comes alive at night, not because any great night life but because everything is illuminated and the buildings along the Danube look magnificent.

Tha last day, guess where I went....to the SPA, of course, but only to the baths, I wanted to have a mud treatment and a massage but they don't do that on sundays, suuucccks!!! but the baths were great. After we went for a walk up to the Citadelle, the monument in remembrance of the 2nd world war. I bought a hot wine, rather alcoholic, mmmmhhh and Cecilia bought a big bread and we went to a chappel that is set in a cave. A beatiful, beautiful place, perfect for an intimate little wedding. We walked around the park and there are several war photographs of BP before and during the war, I love seeing those pictures because then I get a different view of what things are really. At the Citadelle there is a beautiful restaurant and a pretty good lookign club. It was too early for dinner so we continued walking. We went down to the city from there, walking to the other side of the park. Then we took a tram to the Royal Palace funicular. On the way there we saw a monument to Sissy, empress Elizabeth. We used to watch movies about her when we were little, and sissy was Rommy Schneider.

We found a beautiful, beautiful church, all polychromatic inside with severl medieval flags. I have never seen anything like that, just that was worth the trip. That area is really nice, all cobble stone streets, little shops, the palace. I was very cold, frozen, no wonder why as we were -8 degrees. The good thing is that it was dry, because -8 with rain is hell, wet-frozen hell....hahaha

From there we went back to Pest and went for a wonderful Hungarian dinner at the coolest restaurant I've ever seen. I'll post the name and address when I get my book with the names. THe funkiest place, and they had a trio playing all sorts of music and hungarian music. We had a nice dinner for something like 20 dollars.

After, Cecilia went to sleep and I went to the hostel bar, and again went to bed until at 5 am. I was falling asleept at aroun 5รง15 when the kids in the room came back and decided to do mooning dances until 6:30 in the morning. the grouch in me came out and barked at them, useless as they were all drunk. Anyway, I guess I slept for a couple of hours and then got up and left to spend some little time in town and then.....off to Wien.
